Welcome to St Blasius C of E Primary Academy
Our school is a lively, hardworking and caring church school in the Portsmouth and Winchester Diocesan Academies Trust. We strive to meet the educational needs of each pupil and fully support the importance of a close partnership with families, and endeavour to provide a happy, stable environment in which everyone is valued as an individual and encouraged to develop their potential.
Update from Mrs Perkins 23rd March 2020
Dear Parents and Carers,
Today we only have 3 children in school.
From tomorrow there will be no children attending as our key worker parents have very sensibly followed the latest advice and are not sending their children to school, as it is not essential that they do so.
St Blasius will therefore be closed for the foreseeable future as of tomorrow the 24th March 2020.
You will be notified again when we are open. However, at this point in time, we could not even begin to speculate when that could be.
All of the staff would like to send their best wishes to all of our families and hope that we will be together again in the not too distant future.
In the meantime, if you would like to contact via the school email address please do so as school staff will be working from home.
With best wishes,
CEO and Principal
Please remember to phone in on each day that your child is absent. An absence slip will be required on their return. Failure to do so may result in an unauthorised absence. A copy is available to download and print here.
Times of the school day
Just a reminder that the school gates open at 8.30am, the school bell rings at 8.40am and lessons start at 8.45am. Please make sure all children are punctual arriving at school.
Mobile phones in school
Children in Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 who bring their mobile phones to school are not permitted to use them in school time. They will be kept by the teachers and handed back at the end of the school day.
A reminder of the importance to add your child’s name to all items of their school uniform. This makes it much easier to re-unite lost items of clothing with the correct children.
Holidays and time off school (Other than illness)
Family holidays should when possible be taken during school holidays. Holidays or days out during school time must be requested from the Principal in writing 30 days in advance. A copy of the form 'Request to remove a child in education during term time' is available to download and print here.
