Welcome to St Blasius C of E Primary Academy
Our school is a lively, hardworking and caring church school in the Portsmouth and Winchester Diocesan Academies Trust. We strive to meet the educational needs of each pupil and fully support the importance of a close partnership with families, and endeavor to provide a happy, stable environment in which everyone is valued as an individual and encouraged to develop their potential.

We have some exciting news to share with you. The Trust Board have been working to find another, larger multi-academy trust to which our school can transfer, in light of the limited resources available to PWDAT, which has only three primary schools. As a result, we are now working to transfer our school, as well as our sister schools St Francis and St James, to the Diocese of Chichester Academy Trust (DCAT), a larger, successful multi-academy trust. We have met some of team already when they visited us last term. St Columba also transferred to this trust last year.
We want you to be able to hear more about DCAT and what this change will mean to you and your children. A virtual meeting has been arranged so that you can talk to school leaders and representatives of DCAT, to hear more about the proposals, and to ask questions.
The meeting for St Blasius will be 6:30pm on Monday the 8th February, details of how to join will come separately. In addition, on our school website you will find answers to what we think will be common questions. We invite you to ask your own questions of our DCAT colleagues using the link https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/DCATQuestion; who will publish updated questions and answers periodically. If you have a question specific to the needs of your child, which you would like to discuss, please leave your name and phone number on the online form and someone will get back to you.
Please find a letter from me and Mrs Perkins (CEO PWDAT) below. We look forward to meeting members of the team on Monday 8th February.

The government has announced that schools will reopen to all primary age pupils on Monday 8th March. We’re very much looking forward to welcoming back more of our pupils to face-to-face education then. Please click here for further details included in a letter from the Principal.
Safeguarding is EVERYONE’s responsibility – if you feel that a child is at risk in any way, and for any reason, it is your legal obligation to report this in confidence to the Safeguarding leaders of our academy. By reporting a concern, you are not passing judgement on any other parent, and nor is the school, we are all simply fulfilling our core role of keeping children safe.
