Year 1 have enjoyed a fantastic half term packed with visitors, performances and festive fun. From learning about safety and hygiene to shining on stage in their Nativity, the children have worked hard, shown confidence and made wonderful memories together.

It’s been another busy and brilliant week for Year 3! From designing packaging fonts and celebrating swimming progress, to learning about muscles, keeping active, and exploring fairness in RE, the class have shown enthusiasm, teamwork and thoughtfulness throughout.

From suspense stories to Michael Rosen Day and a magical cinema trip, Year 4 have been learning, laughing and growing. They’ve built confidence in maths, explored wellbeing in their mental health workshop, and enjoyed every creative moment along the way!

From Anti-Bullying Week pledges to Remembrance reflections and Children in Need fun, Year 5 have packed so much into one week! They showed kindness, creativity and respect while learning about important causes and celebrating together as a class.

It’s been a busy and inspiring week for Dina Asher-Smith Class! From a Kooth Mental Health workshop and secondary school prep to exploring time zones, poetry, and bridge building, Year 6 have shown maturity, teamwork, and a real love for learning.

Reception have had a wonderful week of firsts! From dressing up for Aspiration Day and meeting a real paramedic, to walking beautifully to their first Harvest Festival, the children have shown confidence, kindness and curiosity as they continue their exciting first term at school.

Year 1 have had an amazing start to the year! They’ve been counting, writing creative stories, exploring toys from the past, and learning about the changing seasons — all with smiles, teamwork, and plenty of curiosity.

From writing creative journey tales to learning about Guy Fawkes, habitats, and even tying their shoelaces — Year 2 have been busy! They’ve explored Harvest symbols, enjoyed tag rugby, and are now ready to play music on the glockenspiel!

Ellen MacArthur Class have had a fantastic start to the year! From tackling column addition and problem-solving in maths, to learning rugby skills and welcoming new friends, Year 4 are working hard, supporting each other, and enjoying their learning journey together.

Year 5 have kicked off the year with creativity, teamwork and community spirit. From clay ‘failed’ pets inspired by Barnabus, to Tag Rugby practice, and an exciting art project with Shanklin Town Council, it’s been a brilliant start!

Year 6 have hit the ground running with exciting new topics, fun quizzes using Blooket, and even an unexpected fire alarm mid-test! From World War Two history to science circuits, the class have already shown determination, creativity and enthusiasm.

Year 6 have had a jam-packed few weeks, from a Parisian adventure and chocolate making in Belgium to helping Reception with Sports Day and preparing for secondary school. With more trips ahead, they’re making every moment of their final term count.

From pirate dress-ups to an environmental mystery, our Reception class has had a packed week of fun and discovery. With new friends joining us, big transitions ahead, and lots of learning through play, EYFS continues to inspire curiosity and kindness.

Before the Easter break, Tanni Grey-Thompson Class dived into Arctic adventures, cricket coaching, rugby sessions, and some impressive maths challenges. Their enthusiasm and hard work shone through across geography, science, RE, and sport — setting them up for another fantastic term ahead!

It’s been a brilliant week in Year 4! The children finished their fairy tales, smashed their times tables, and explored the Natural History Museum – teeth, dinosaurs, earthquakes and all. A ferry ride to London made the adventure even more memorable!

This week, Tim Peake Class embraced creativity in all forms! From crafting stunning outdoor art with natural materials to painting moon phases and designing stained-glass windows for Saint Blaise Day, teamwork and imagination were at the heart of every activity—even on skateboards!

Ellen MacArthur Class have kicked off 2025 with enthusiasm! They tackled the Times Tables Rock Stars Challenge, created imaginary creatures in writing, and explored melting points in Science. With football, rugby, and cricket in PE, they’re keeping active too! ⚽🏉🏏

Year 5 have had a fantastic start to the half-term, working in teams in RE, building skills in cricket and netball, and embracing new challenges with enthusiasm. Their determination and teamwork are shining through—exciting times ahead! 💪🎉

Year 6 have had a fantastic week, diving into Wuthering Heights through role play and creative dialogue. In Art, they explored photography by reassembling images into new creations. A week of drama, mystery, and imagination!

We built race tracks for our toy cars, cut out shapes to make a bus, and enjoyed the outdoors—digging, building, and adding to our bug hotel!

Year 1 have had an amazing half-term! They shone in their Nativity performance, explored inequality symbols in Maths, and wrote scary stories in English. In Science, they tested their senses, loving the chocolate smell but not so much the garlic!

Tim Peake Class had a fantastic week, from Chance to Shine assessments to swimming lengths at The Heights. They explored bones and muscles in Science, danced their hearts out at the KS2 disco, and brought in gifts for the Christmas Fayre!

Year Five have once again had a great start back after the October half term. We are learning about lots of new topics and children are really putting their all into it!

Year 6 have returned with a brilliant attitude to learning and are already demonstrating the attributes they need for a successful year.

Tim Peake class have had another busy week and have really settled into Key Stage Two!

In English, they independently wrote their own ‘journey tales’. The children prepared for this by creating their own expanded noun phrases and similes in order to describe the setting of the story.

Wow! What a super half term we have had in Year 1. I have been really impressed with their enthusiasm towards their learning and how well the children have settled into new routines within KS1.

Wow!! What a very busy, busy, busy first half term we have had in ‘big’ school! And now we are raring to go with what we know will be another very exciting albeit busy term!

Ellen MacArthur Class have certainly got into the swing of things with some superb work and learning as they begin Year 4.

It has been an interesting week in Year 5, not least because we did a lot of our morning learning in the hall while Year 6 borrowed our room for SATs.

We have had a super exciting first week back at school full of learning and fun! We have had lots of fun sharing our new book… Whatever Next! by Jill Murphy.

On Monday afternoon we were joined by lots of parents and grandparents to make our Easter baskets
