SATs, Smiles and a Well-Earned Celebration for Year 6!
A memorable week of determination, teamwork and celebration as Year 6 completed their SATs and enjoyed some well-earned fun.
TL;DR:
- Tackled SATs with fantastic determination, resilience and positivity.
- Enjoyed a special SATs breakfast together each morning.
- Worked with younger pupils and celebrated National Nurses Day.
- Re-energised with a live Joe Wicks workout on Thursday.
- Celebrated with a cinema trip and rounders with other DCAT Island schools.
This week has been a very important and memorable one for Year 6 as it has been SATs week. I could not be prouder of the children for the hard work, determination and resilience they have shown throughout the week. They approached every challenge with such a positive attitude and kept going even when things became tricky. They should all feel incredibly proud of themselves! All children have enjoyed their SATs breakfast every morning with very polite manners and full bellies to make sure we were all fuelled for what lay ahead!
Alongside the tests, we have still made time for some fun activities together. On Monday, Year 6 joined Year 1 and Year 2 for some shared activities, and on Tuesday we spent time with Year 3 and Year 4 where they celebrated National Nurses Day. It was lovely to see the children working together and being such fantastic role models for the younger pupils.
On Thursday, we took part in a live workout with Joe Wicks, which was a great way to energise ourselves and have some fun after a busy week.
To celebrate the children’s efforts and achievements, on Friday we enjoyed our SATs week treat with a trip to the cinema, followed by a game of rounders with the other Year 6 DCAT Island schools. The children had a wonderful time and thoroughly deserved the opportunity to relax and celebrate all they have accomplished this week.
Well done, Year 6 — you have been amazing!
