This week, we have had a wonderful time exploring the story of Noah’s Ark and thinking about how we can care for our world and each other. The children really enjoyed listening to the story and talking about why Noah looked after the animals so carefully. We shared lots of thoughtful ideas about how we can show kindness to animals, our friends and the environment around us.

Throughout the week, we took part in a range of creative activities linked to our learning. The children loved creating their own animal pairs using a variety of materials, and we worked hard to talk about why it is important to look after them. We also created a beautiful whole-class piece of artwork, it was lovely to see the children working together and taking pride in contributing to something as a team.

In our writing, the children have been working hard to express their ideas. We wrote simple sentences about how we can care for animals, our world and each other. It has been fantastic to see the progress being made in writing, with many children using their phonics to write independently and share their thoughts.

To help us keep cool during the warmer weather, we have also spent lots of time enjoying water play outside. The children had great fun exploring, pouring, transporting and playing together, all while staying refreshed and happy in the sunshine.

It has been a busy and exciting week in Reception, filled with creativity, teamwork and thoughtful discussions. We are so proud of all the children and the enthusiasm they bring to their learning each day!
