St Blasius Day - 3rd February 2022
The whole school celebrated St Blasius Day by learning about St Blaise
Reception class learnt about St Blaise and produced a colourful display.
Year 1 recreated the sheiks design by making stained glass candles and painted tigers.
Year 2 learnt about Saint Blaise and what he was known for. They wrote this information with an illustration and also created fish bone pictures with Art straws and black paper. In addition they traced and coloured the St Blasius shield in a stained glass window style.
Year 4 explored the life of Saint Blaise and they created a range of artwork and writing pertaining to his life's events.
Year 5 researched St Blaise and wrote prayers to him and about him.
Year 6 researched St Blaise and created drawings depicting him on crosses.

Year 1 have been busy exploring the changing seasons, discovering toys from the past and becoming budding advertisers! From spotting signs of autumn on a seasonal walk to investigating historical toys and creating persuasive adverts, there has been plenty of exciting learning.
Year 2 have enjoyed a fantastic half term of adventures, from writing imaginative meerkat journeys to exploring habitats at Fort Victoria. Along the way, they’ve investigated Guy Fawkes, mastered number skills, created self-portraits and discovered the meaning of Harvest traditions.
Year 3 have made a fantastic start to the term, celebrating brilliant punctuality and embracing exciting new challenges. From swimming and Forest School adventures to discovering Roman history and investigating animal diets, Tim Peake Class have shown wonderful courage and enthusiasm!
Year 4 have made a brilliant start to the term, enjoying Forest School adventures, rugby challenges and exciting maths activities. From making nature bracelets and sharing favourite books to brewing hot chocolate outdoors, Ellen MacArthur Class have had plenty to celebrate!
Year 5 have made a brilliant start to the year, embracing new challenges with courage and enthusiasm! From applying for exciting school leadership roles to e.xploring, creating and problem-solving at Forest School, the children are already showing confidence, creativity and teamwork
Year 6 have made a fantastic start to their final year, embracing new responsibilities and stepping up as school leaders. From House Captains and Eco Crew to Sports Crew and School Council, the children are already setting a wonderful example!
Reception have enjoyed a thoughtful and creative week inspired by the story of Noah’s Ark. From making animal pairs and creating collaborative artwork to practising independent writing and cooling off with outdoor water play, there has been plenty to enjoy.
Year 1 have plenty to celebrate after fantastic success in their Phonics Screening Check! Alongside this brilliant achievement, they’ve been measuring, experimenting with speech in their writing, investigating animal diets and finishing things off with plenty of dancing at the school disco.
Year 2 have enjoyed a wonderfully busy term filled with stories, science and discovery. From writing their own fables and investigating seeds to developing photography skills and exploring vintage buses, the children have tackled every new challenge with enthusiasm and confidence.
Year 3 have enjoyed a positive and focused start to their final term, exploring everything from sea safety and mysterious light sources to polygons and Hindu traditions. They’ve also started a new class text and returned to the rugby field!
