St Blasius Day - 3rd February 2022
The whole school celebrated St Blasius Day by learning about St Blaise
Reception class learnt about St Blaise and produced a colourful display.
Year 1 recreated the sheiks design by making stained glass candles and painted tigers.
Year 2 learnt about Saint Blaise and what he was known for. They wrote this information with an illustration and also created fish bone pictures with Art straws and black paper. In addition they traced and coloured the St Blasius shield in a stained glass window style.
Year 4 explored the life of Saint Blaise and they created a range of artwork and writing pertaining to his life's events.
Year 5 researched St Blaise and wrote prayers to him and about him.
Year 6 researched St Blaise and created drawings depicting him on crosses.

Year 4 have packed plenty into this half term, from navigating coordinates with Battleships and investigating electrical circuits to debating the fate of a Shang Dynasty king. They’ve also been writing, experimenting and getting into training for Sports Day!
What a week for Year 6! The children tackled their SATs with determination, resilience and plenty of breakfast fuel. Alongside the tests, they found time for shared activities, a Joe Wicks workout and a thoroughly deserved end-of-week celebration.
Year 5 have enjoyed an action-packed start to the term, combining poetry, theatre and hands-on science. From creating nature-inspired haikus and watching Matilda the Musical to experimenting with forces and launching rockets, there have been some unforgettable learning experiences!
Reception have enjoyed a wonderful week packed with memorable experiences! From watching their ducklings splash and play to discovering White-Tailed Eagles, retelling Jack and the Beanstalk and building bridges outdoors, there has been curiosity and excitement everywhere.
Year 1 have made a fantastic start to the term with creative writing, colourful artwork and exciting new topics. From comparing famous queens and exploring animals to designing imaginative Arcimboldo-inspired portraits, the children have shown curiosity, confidence and brilliant teamwork throughout.
Year 2 have enjoyed a fantastic half term packed with storytelling, multiplication, science and creativity. From visiting Marwell Zoo and designing moving minibeasts to exploring emotions through stories, the children have shown curiosity, confidence and wonderful teamwork throughout their learning.
Year 3 have ended the term with dragons, rugby, science investigations and Easter celebrations! From thoughtful PSHE discussions and geography explorations to bonnet parades and seed experiments, the children have shown creativity, teamwork and fantastic enthusiasm across all their learning.
Year 5 have had an action-packed start to the term, from hands-on forensic workshops to colourful Chinese New Year celebrations and a joyful World Book Day. With creativity, teamwork and curiosity on show, it’s been a fantastic few weeks of learning.
Year 6 have returned from half term with fantastic focus and enthusiasm. From exploring fingerprints and forensic science to preparing for SATs, the children have shown determination, curiosity and teamwork in a truly inspiring start to the term.
Reception have had a joyful week settling back into school, voting for their favourite stories and celebrating Chinese New Year. From exploring China to creating colourful crafts with families, the classroom has been full of curiosity, creativity and excitement.
