Year 3 - Making Easter baskets and Mardi Gras with the new Carnival Company

We have had a fantastic last week of term!

On Monday afternoon we were joined by lots of parents and grandparents to make our Easter baskets, this was a super afternoon and we had some lovely baskets made.



Tuesday we were joined by the New Carnival Company for an inspirational session for St Blasius entry this year to Mardi Gras. The children learnt about the history of Mardi Gras, and got to design costumes for this year’s theme Greek Festivals. Children can sign up to take part in Mardi Gras on Arbor, we will make costumes and take part in the parade on July 6th in Ryde. 


In PE we have been learning how to play tennis! the children really enjoyed theses lesson and we have learnt some fantastic skills, using both their forehand and backhand strokes.


Thursday afternoon we had our reward afternoon for attendance, we had an Easter egg hunt and a craft session. Well done year 3, for your super attendance.

What a week for Year 6! The children tackled their SATs with determination, resilience and plenty of breakfast fuel. Alongside the tests, they found time for shared activities, a Joe Wicks workout and a thoroughly deserved end-of-week celebration.

Year 5 have enjoyed an action-packed start to the term, combining poetry, theatre and hands-on science. From creating nature-inspired haikus and watching Matilda the Musical to experimenting with forces and launching rockets, there have been some unforgettable learning experiences!

Reception have enjoyed a wonderful week packed with memorable experiences! From watching their ducklings splash and play to discovering White-Tailed Eagles, retelling Jack and the Beanstalk and building bridges outdoors, there has been curiosity and excitement everywhere.

Year 1 have made a fantastic start to the term with creative writing, colourful artwork and exciting new topics. From comparing famous queens and exploring animals to designing imaginative Arcimboldo-inspired portraits, the children have shown curiosity, confidence and brilliant teamwork throughout.

Year 2 have enjoyed a fantastic half term packed with storytelling, multiplication, science and creativity. From visiting Marwell Zoo and designing moving minibeasts to exploring emotions through stories, the children have shown curiosity, confidence and wonderful teamwork throughout their learning.

Year 3 have ended the term with dragons, rugby, science investigations and Easter celebrations! From thoughtful PSHE discussions and geography explorations to bonnet parades and seed experiments, the children have shown creativity, teamwork and fantastic enthusiasm across all their learning.
