A Super Busy Week in Reception! 🦆🦅📚

Reception have had a super busy and exciting week, packed full of wonderful learning experiences!

We were very excited to welcome the ducklings back into school after their weekend stay at Miss Powell’s house.

On Monday and Wednesday, we spent time with them and loved watching them play and splash in the water. Although our hands were a little too small to hold them safely, we were amazed to see how well they could jump and wriggle their way out! The children showed great curiosity and care as they observed the ducklings closely and talked about what they noticed.

In Literacy, we have been reading Jack and the Beanstalk. The children created some amazing S-plans, retelling the story beautifully and showing a great understanding of the sequence of events. We were so impressed with the effort and enthusiasm they brought to bringing the story to life.

We also had a very special visit from the Wildheart Sanctuary. Emma taught us all about White‑Tailed Eagles, sharing some really cool and interesting facts. The children were fascinated by how large and powerful these birds are and asked lots of thoughtful questions.

Outside, the children had lots of fun exploring the water tray and using equipment in the construction area to build bridges, testing their balance and working creatively together. It was wonderful to see such teamwork, problem‑solving and resilience on display.

It has been a week full of excitement, hands‑on learning and memorable moments, and the children have been fantastic throughout. Well done, Reception!
